recovering

As I get older, I realized that my stomach can not handle fried foods anymore. Yesterday my french fry craving hit me so we went to the Austin Ale House in Kew Gardens. I ended up getting the chicken fingers which were so crunchy and tasty. There were quite a number of people at the bar which they were watching a bunch of horse rases and sports channels. Then we went to the Homestead for some apple strudel and coffee. A little disappointing because it probably should have been served warm. Then about two hours later, I was looking for the pepto-bismol.

We did meet up with Howard, Stephanie and Larry for dinner at LaLocanda in Williamsburg. Good food at reasonable prices. Too bad I couldn't eat as much as I wanted to.

Need to start hosting get togethers at my place...I promise not to serve anything too fried.

What did Kelly Choi eat during the week

I always thought that Kelly Choi has the cool job of hosting both Secrets of New York and New York Eats. I'm envious that she goes to all these eateries and restaurants because I don't think she would eat half the items off of the list that New York Magazine reported on. It pays to have connections in the food world.

weekend list

What will I be doing this weekend - Top Ten mundane list:
1 - Laundry (usually three loads - whites, colors, towels) on Saturday mornings before 8:00am to beat the rush.
2 - Clean the bathroom - Matt tells me that I'm great but it's because it's the one room he doesn't like cleaning.
3 - Send that disposable camera to get developed (I've had it since Nov. 2007). You're probably wondering "who the hell uses 35mm film anymore?"
4 - Watch Netflix DVD that came in - this weekend's feature is Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale.
5 - Grocery shopping - It's always either Trade Fair, Natural, Key Food or Trader Joe's. Those are the standard places around Forest Hills.
6 - Walk to as many places as I can. I have just about given up using the exercise room in my building because if more than two people are upstairs, the place is full!
7 - Throw out all the junk mail that I received. The pile keeps growing.
8 - Stuff those crisp one dollar bills in Chinese red envelopes which eventually will end up other people's pockets. I'm so bad at following tradition!
9 - Watch the Super Bowl - okay okay I am not a football fan but how often do the Giants get to play in the biggest game of the year?
10 - Scrap this list entirely and just snuggle and hibernate in bed.
