Bridal shower

So I think that my sister's bridal shower went pretty well. We had it in the skyroom because my apartment would give everyone cabin fever for the 4 hours especially with the kids running around in circles. It was mostly family hangin' out. It was awful that Kat and Connie had to drive back and forth between Jersey and Queens - not just once but twice. Too much going on.

Despite everyone's busy schedules, we managed to bring it all together. It ended up that I was in charge of room and decorations, Michelle in charge of food and Anne was in charge of games and cake. Cynthia was thrilled to open those presents!!! Overall if she was happy, we did our job.

here we go again

Baby sis is getting married and I now we're all trying to scramble to get a bridal shower all ready by the end of the month. What happened to the time? It seem like we had months to prepare but it now all went out of the window.

This weekend I plan to run over to Michael's, the big arts and crafts store, to see what decoration supplies I should get for the parttay. (doing little dance right now). It took forever for that place to open which is right in the same building as Trader Joe's (love it!). Too bad it's on Metropolitian Ave. which is at least a 20 minute walk.

It's going to suck walking in the rain tomorrow. These are the times when my learner's permit should really be a driver's license. Once I was ready to pay for driving lessons, the Rite Way Auto School closed down on 71st and Continental. oh whatever...yeah yeah I have all these excuses....you're right it's quite boring already.

So I just have to go dive right in and as Tim Gunn would say "Make it work". (yeah I did watch to see who won on Project Runway) Will see what happens tomorrow of how much I really get accomplished.

Matzo Ball

My hubby, Matty, wasn't feeling well earlier this evening. So I ran to the supermarket to get some food suuplies. My gut feeling was that he wanted some soup and comfort. Boy! Do I know my husband well. So I bought some ingredents for matzo ball soup with carrots and chicken. The key I think is to add lots of carrots to the soup and to make the balls the size of tangerines.

I never made matzo ball soup before tonight. Surprisingly, it came out pretty good. The soup's all gone now but at least Matt does feels better afterwards. Soup does works wonders!
