how many months has it been?

I'm still trying to see if I can grab reservations at Momofuku Ko. This online reservations site is a big joke. It's always full! If you don't believe me, you try to see if you can get one.

random thoughts that I have right at this moment

I want to go on another vacation. Memorial Day weekend seem so long ago; hanging out at the beach in Negril, watching baby sis get married. This whole summer is all about Anthony Bourdain as a way to compensate from the lack of traveling. The Travel Channel sure makes all these countries pretty. The books help alot as I ride the F train to and from work.
I have no idea why I bought a bottle of Shiraz called Fat Bastard. The whole wheat pasta I cooked is not al dente. Damn. Where did the summer go? I need to buy a gift for my new niece that's coming into the world soon. The Dept of Health did ban the ChipShop's Twice Fried Cherry Pie off their menu. I plan to start taking yoga classes in the building but the instructor backed out partly because she wants more money. I wonder how many people did sign up for these yoga classes. Now everyone's scrambling to find a new instructor. Is it the weekend yet? When is Heroes going to show new episodes? There's too much paper on my desk. I spend way too much time on Facebook. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright! Is it the weekend yet?

happy July 4th

As the Macy's fireworks are going off by the East River, I am just hanging out at home. Didn't really do much today.

- did laundry and cleaned bathroom
- walked over to Atlas Park and hung out until it started to rain
- ate hot dogs, cole slaw and potato salad on the terrace to celebrate this wonderful country of ours (even though there's probably lots to complain about - we wouldn't be Americans if we didn't complain)
- watched lots of Twlight Zone episodes on the SciFi channel

Random thoughts:
I really want to see the next Batman and the X-Files sequels. :)

All this rain in NY is due to global warming.

The Momofuku Ko reservation system is like Groundhog's Day. Every day it's completely filled.

It's awfully quiet on Queens Blvd.

All of the petals on my orchid plant fell off. Did I give it too much water?

Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting.

2nd NYC Food Film Festival - This is My Cheesesteak

When I attended the NY Food Film Festival http://www.nycfoodfilmfestival.com/ on the first day, I thought I was going to get electrocuted by the high winds, pouring rain and the live electric wires under the tent. It was great anyway because the cheesesteaks were yummy and we got to view a very well made documentary called "This Is My Cheesesteak" by Ben Daniels. http://www.thisismycheesesteak.com/ It was a lot of fun to watch. You can also purchase his DVD.

Momofuku Ko’s reservation site

I've been the the noodle bar and the ssam bar but that was like months and months after it was open.

Trying to get a reservation at Momofuku Ko is like the same odds for winning Megamillions.
I wonder how long it will take me to score a reservation.

hope I won't have to be in that situation

Instead of going straight to the office today, I attended a CPR class with a work colleague of mine. The American Red Cross building is on 49th Street off of 10th Avenue. Two long avenues from the 50th Street E train station. I have to admit it's alot to remember of how to give breaths and making sure of the 30 beats per every 18 seconds; training with adult and baby manequins. Check, Call, Care. check your suroundings, tap to see if the person's awake, call 9-1-1, start breathing and CPR. Ack! I hope I will never have to use CPR.

Bridal shower

So I think that my sister's bridal shower went pretty well. We had it in the skyroom because my apartment would give everyone cabin fever for the 4 hours especially with the kids running around in circles. It was mostly family hangin' out. It was awful that Kat and Connie had to drive back and forth between Jersey and Queens - not just once but twice. Too much going on.

Despite everyone's busy schedules, we managed to bring it all together. It ended up that I was in charge of room and decorations, Michelle in charge of food and Anne was in charge of games and cake. Cynthia was thrilled to open those presents!!! Overall if she was happy, we did our job.
